Henderson Schools Add Four New Campuses as Enrollment Climbs
The Clark County School District is opening four new Henderson-area campuses to keep pace with the city's continued residential growth.
Four new schools are set to open across Henderson over the next two academic years, part of a construction push aimed at relieving overcrowding in a city that has added thousands of new households in recent years.
District officials say the new campuses, two elementary schools, a middle school, and an expanded high school annex, were sited using enrollment projections tied to active residential permits rather than current population alone, an approach meant to avoid the under-building that left some existing Henderson schools operating well above capacity.
Parent groups have largely welcomed the expansion but raised questions about staffing, noting that new buildings do little to solve the district's ongoing teacher shortage. The district says it has budgeted for incentive pay at the new campuses to help with recruitment.
Construction on the first two campuses is expected to finish in time for next fall's enrollment period, with the remaining two following a year later.
